Roy Rogers Guitar
Below are Roy Rogers guitars and related items for sale on eBay. Roy Rogers
was a singer and actor who made a series of highly popular "singing cowboy"
movies from the late 1930s to the early 1950s. You could always count on a Roy
Rogers movie to have plenty of Western action and lots of great
Western music, too. Even though we never saw Roy carrying a guitar around on his
famous palomino stallion Trigger, he somehow always had one handy when he wanted
to sing a song. Roy Rogers guitars became wildly popular with children and
adults several generations ago, and still enjoy a strong popularity today. When
looking at the guitars below keep in mind that they might be a toy guitar or a
"real" guitar intended to be used as a musical instrument. Also keep in mind
that while many of the Roy Rogers guitars below may have been made several
decades ago some of them may be much newer.
Note: Most of the items below
are related to the Roy Rogers (1911 - 1998) that is the famous singer and actor
known for a series of hit "singing cowboy" movies. Some items, however, are
connected to a well-known slide guitarist who also has the name Roy
Rogers (1950 - present).
Things To Think About When Shopping For A Roy Rogers Guitar
- Is the guitar several decades old, or is it much newer?
- Is the guitar a toy, or a "real" guitar intended to be used as a musical
- Is it new or used?
- What condition is the guitar in? Do you care if it's playable? If it is
a used guitar, particularly if it's also a toy guitar, it's reasonable to
expect it may not be in perfect condition. The seller should describe any
defects (scuffs, scratches, marks, loose or missing pieces, etc.) and show
them in pictures if possible.
- Are there enough good photos of the guitar that you feel like you can
get a good look at it? Keep in mind that a seller will probably (and
understandably) take fewer pictures of a toy guitar than of a "real" guitar
intended to be used as a musical instrument. Regardless of the type of
guitar, though, there should be enough photos that you can get a good look
at it. If you would like additional photos of the guitar ask the seller for
more photos BEFORE you bid or buy.
- How big is the guitar? If the Roy Rogers guitar is a toy the seller may
give general length and width measurements, or they may let you draw a
general idea of its size by looking at photographs. If the guitar a "real"
guitar, though, you will probably want more detailed measurements (scale
length, fingerboard width, etc.).
- If the guitar is a musical instrument (not a toy), how complete is the
description? While the description of a toy guitar may be fairly brief, a
guitar that is a musical instrument should have a much longer, more detailed
description. For guitars that are musical instruments you may want to know
such things as make and model, type (acoustic, etc.), body size,
construction material (top, back, and sides), bridge material and style, and
more. If the seller leaves out anything you want to know, contact them with
your questions BEFORE you bid or buy.
- Does the guitar come with a case? If so, is it the original case or a
different one? Does it matter? Keep in mind that not all Roy Rogers guitars
originally came with cases, so if the guitar you're interested in doesn't
have one it doesn't necessarily mean the case was lost, it could mean there
never was one.
- Does the guitar come with a box?
- What forms of payment does the seller accept?
- Can the guitar be returned?
- How soon do you have to pay for your purchase? An increasing number of
eBay sellers are getting tired of buyers who take a long time to pay for
their item. Some of these sellers are now requiring the item be paid for
within a certain time frame or the sale is off. Read the item's description
for acceptable payment times and terms.
- What will the shipping costs be? Is shipping insurance offered? If so,
at what cost? Will the seller ship to your location? How soon after you pay
for your item will it be shipped?
- If you have any questions about a Roy Rogers guitar for sale on eBay,
ask the seller your questions BEFORE you bid or buy.
